Walking & Cycling

There is something truly special about the North Herefordshire countryside—it’s a landscape that invites you to slow down and take it all in. If you’ve brought your walking boots, you’re in the perfect place. We highly recommend starting with the Black and White Village Trail. It’s a forty-mile loop through some of England’s most beautiful timbered villages, and while you can drive it, walking sections of it allows you to truly appreciate the ancient architecture. For those who want to feel the wind in their hair and see for miles, a trip to the Offa’s Dyke Path is a must. The trails here offer some of the most rewarding hiking in the UK.

If you prefer to explore on two wheels, you don’t need to worry about packing the bike rack. The lovely team at Wheely Wonderful Cycling are just a short drive away in Leintwardine. They are incredibly friendly and can provide everything from bike hire to hand-drawn route maps that lead you through the quietest, most scenic lanes in the county.
