If you travel using an electric vehicle in the UK, it’s essential to find accommodation that has EV charging facilities so that you can have a worry-free staycation. At Wall End Farm which is based in Monkland, we’ve installed an electric car charging point so that we can support sustainable travel and so that our guests have a fully charged battery to explore Herefordshire during their stay.
On-Site EV Charging
We have a 22kw 3-phase Type 2 electric car charging point for you to use throughout your stay. When you arrive at our accommodation, The Hop Kiln or The Hayloft Studio, simply plug in and get straight into holiday mode, where you can either relax inside the property, sit in your private outdoor space with a cup of tea or take a walk around the local area and enjoy the fresh Herefordshire air.
The benefit of having an on-site EV charging point is that you won’t need to find a public charging station where you would have to sit and waste valuable ‘holiday time’ to charge your car, or even worse, have to queue for a charing point to become available.
Herefordshire Holidays
Our Herefordshire accommodation is the ideal base for exploring the local area and the Welsh Borders. From our location you can easily reach both Hereford and Ludlow, which are only 10 miles away. These journeys are well within the travel distance that an electric car is capable of, and can be completed on one full charge.
If you are planning on visiting the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons or Long Mynd during your stay, the good news is that you have peace of mind, knowing that you can charge your car when you arrive back to Wall End Farm and relax for the evening. If you prefer to make shorter journeys, we have many local attractions like the Newton Court cider makers and the working cheese dairy which are great places to visit.
At Wall End Farm, we do various sustainable practices such as using BioMass wood fuel to heat our Herefordshire accommodation, have solar panels installed and participate in local recycling schemes, so we are pleased to support sustainable tourism with our electric vehicle charging point. Plus it helps to keep a cleaner air quality in the local area and when you explore the wider Herefordshire area.
The combination of electric vehicle travelling and a countryside holiday, makes the perfect eco-friendly staycation, which can also be enhanced by purchasing local produce to use in our self-catering accommodation.
Comfortable Self-Catering Accommodation
At Wall End Farm we have two properties for you to choose from. The Hop Kiln is our largest accommodation and sleeps up to four guests. It has a unique circular sitting room which was once a working hop kiln and also features underfloor heating and modern amenities. This property has a large enclosed garden and a fully equipped kitchen.
For couples, The Hayloft Studio is a great choice and is an intimate first-floor space which has its own outdoor terrace. This accommodation sleeps up to two guests and is a great space for relaxing after a day of exploring Herefordshire’s attractions.

Both of our properties welcome dogs (2 well-behaved dogs in The Hop Kiln and 1 well-behaved, more senior and less active dog in The Hayloft Studio), and also include a welcome hamper which contains local produce for you to enjoy during your stay.
If you’re ready to experience a stress-free holiday in your electric vehicle, based in the wonderful Herefordshire area, then our accommodation is ideal. Our charging facilities combined with comfortable accommodation and a great location, make Wall End Farm the perfect choice for your sustainable getaway in the UK.
