Dog-friendly Herefordshire stays

Bring your dogs on holiday to Herefordshire - Stay at our self-catering accommodation at Wall End Farm

Finding accommodation that is dog-friendly is vital for many dog owners, as they want to share their holiday experience with their pets. At Wall End Farm we have two properties that welcome dogs, The Hop Kiln which sleeps 4 guests and 2 well-behaved dogs and has an enclosed garden, and The Hayloft which sleeps 2 guests and 1 well-behaved dog although it doesn’t have an enclosed garden so would suit an older, quiet and less active dog.

Dogs Welcome in Our Holiday Homes

Our Herefordshire accommodation is ideal for dog owners and their pets as we have facilities that will make your stay feel like a home-from-home experience. We have a bike storage area which also doubles as a drying room, and is great for both owners and dogs after exploring the local countryside so that you can wipe muddy paws and dry your dogs if needed.

The Hop Kiln has a large enclosed garden which is great for dog owners as your dogs can run freely whilst you relax on the terrace. You’ll be able to watch them explore whilst they discover new scents and familiarise themselves with the outdoor space.

The Hop Kiln and The Hayloft Studio both have outdoor seating areas which are perfect for al fresco dining. They are also great spaces for evening relaxation, where you can enjoy a glass of wine and take in the fresh Herefordshire air, all while your dog lays by your side.

Exploring the Local Area

The benefit of staying near Leominster, is the range of dog-friendly activities that are within easy reach. The River Wye is great for waterside walks with dogs of all ages and energy levels. For the more adventurous breeds, the Black Mountains and Long Mynd offer a more challenging terrain and is great for owners too.

There are many local villages that welcome well-behaved dogs and country pubs that are dog-friendly. Your four-legged companion will also enjoy discovering the walking routes that run directly from our farm.

Comfortable Accommodation for Pet Owners

We know that pet owners seek both comfortable accommodation and enough space for their dogs to rest. Our two properties have plenty of space where you can both relax and unwind after a day of exploring the local area.

During the day, you can enjoy the outdoor space and play a game of fetch with your dogs or sit in the sun if the Herefordshire weather allows.

In Monkland village, there is a working cheese dairy which often welcomes well-behaved dogs and the local area has many dog-friendly establishments for you to visit during your stay. Many of our guests enjoy visiting the Newton Court cider makers, as your dogs can join you in the outdoor area.

If you’re looking for a dog-friendly getaway, Wall End Farm is the ideal choice where your dogs can join you on your Herefordshire adventures.

Dog-Friendly Days Out Around Leominster

Leominster is an excellent base for visitors travelling with dogs. The surrounding countryside offers plenty of space for walking, while local attractions, historic houses and welcoming cafés mean you don’t have to leave your four-legged companion behind.

One of the best options nearby is Croft Castle, a National Trust estate with over a thousand acres of parkland. Dogs on leads are welcome across much of the estate and there are several waymarked routes to choose from, including climbs to the Iron Age hill fort of Croft Ambrey. A little further south you’ll find Berrington Hall, another National Trust property where dogs can join you in the gardens and wider park. Both estates combine history with broad landscapes, making them perfect for a relaxed day outdoors.

For a different experience, Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum on Dinmore Hill is particularly popular with dog walkers. Its trails wind through native woodland and ornamental tree plantings, offering everything from short, level strolls to longer loops. In spring the woods are alive with bluebells, while autumn brings a blaze of colour. It’s a convenient spot for an afternoon walk and has facilities on site to make visiting easy.

Those keen on heritage will also enjoy Eastnor Castle, which is unusual in that dogs are permitted in many of the castle’s public areas as well as the grounds. It makes for an enjoyable trip where you can combine a historic visit with a lakeside walk. Goodrich Castle, set above the River Wye, is another dog-friendly site where you can explore medieval ruins together.

Closer to Leominster itself there are plenty of places to pause with your dog. Newton Court Cider, just outside the town, is well known for its relaxed café and restaurant where dogs are made very welcome. In the centre, both Grange Court and Café Saverys allow dogs, so you can enjoy coffee or lunch without worry. Across the county more pubs and tea rooms are following suit, giving you a wide choice when planning a day out.

The area also offers plenty of informal attractions. Riverside paths, sections of the Herefordshire Trail, and the villages of the Black & White Trail all make excellent outings, giving you the freedom to enjoy the scenery at your own pace. Many local footpaths link villages with dog-friendly pubs, so it’s easy to combine a walk with a meal.

Travelling with a dog in Herefordshire is refreshingly straightforward. With so many attractions, walking areas and places to eat that are happy to welcome them, you’ll find it easy to plan days that everyone can enjoy. Whether you’re after a gentle stroll in the woods, a castle to explore, or simply a cosy café in town, Leominster and its surroundings have plenty to offer.
